Joint-tight surface, plain to slightly coarse wood. Healthy, firmly intergrown knots, isolated black point knots permitted, black-edged knots (for pine) permitted, small proportions of pith possible, slight colour deviations permissible, shallow cracks at the edges of the panel permissible. Natural knot plugs, resin pockets and resin pocket repairs permitted, reverse side closed.
